How Eilat Shuttle Works – FAQ

Eilat Shuttle is the easiest and cheapest way to get from:

  • Ovda Airport to your hotel in Eilat, Aqaba, and Taba
  • Ovda Airport to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv City Center
  • Eilat to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Mitzpe Ramon
  • The new Ramon Airport (opening 2019)

What times do your shuttles operate from Ovda Airport?

Our shuttles operate on a timetable matched to the flight schedule of Ovda Airport. This means that there is a shuttle leaving Ovda Airport to Eilat, Aqaba, and Taba, 45 minutes after incoming flights, and a shuttle leaving Eilat approximately 4 hours before departing flights.

The pickup times from the city are arranged in coordination with the airport requirements to ensure passengers arrive to the airport with enough time to comply with airport security procedures which requires passengers to arrive 3 hours before departure. When you start to book, select your transfer date and you will see the transfer options for this day. We’ll also give you a precise pickup time for your hotel to reduce waiting time.

Do you operate on Saturdays (Shabbat)?

Yes, our service is available seven days a week.

Can I buy a ticket on the bus?

No. All Eilat Shuttle bookings must be made in our website before travel. Our drivers and assistants are not able to sell tickets, so pre-booking is required if you would like to travel with us.

Do you drop me and pick me from my hotel in Eilat?

Yes, we operate a door to door service which drops you at your hotel. Pickup is not possible from private addresses as vehicle access for our drivers is sometimes problematic, however, in this cities you are never far from the nearest hotel where you should wait just outside the entrance for our driver.

I’m taking a shuttle to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, or Mitpze Ramon. How does it work?

Our shuttles that run from Ovda Airport to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Dead Sea, and Mitzpe Ramon are not direct. The shuttles make a stop in Eilat before continuing on to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem at 19:00 every evening. You’ll see the information when you book. Transfers to Aqaba and Taba are direct with no waiting time in Eilat.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

We adjust our schedule for transfers to Eilat, Aqaba, and Taba to accommodate delayed flights for airlines whose schedules we are coordinated with. If the flight is delayed we will delay the shuttle by the difference between scheduled and actual arrival time, or until all booked passengers arrive to the shuttle, whichever is shortest.

Which airlines are your schedules coordinated with?

Our schedules coordinate with flights for Ryanair, Wizz, Lufthansa, Edelweiss, Finnair, Transavia, and Air Europa. If you do not fly with these airlines, you can still use our service, however the timing might not be so convenient.

How do shuttles to Taba or Aqaba work?

Our team will drop you at the entrance to the Israeli terminal of the relevant border crossing where a rep will provide border crossing assistance. We’ll greet you on the other side of the border, for continued journey to Taba or Aqaba.

On the return to Ovda Airport, please wait outside the terminal for your shuttle (this will have a fixed departure time and there might be some waiting time, this is to ensure that we provide a comfortable amount of time for you to cross the border). Please note that in the very rare case where you are delayed at the border with security/immigration/customs and missing the continuing shuttle from the border to the airport, Eilat Shuttle will not be held responsible for missed flights, and you will be responsible for finding your own way to the airport. As this is a shared shuttle service, we cannot wait for individuals and delay other passengers on board.

When will I be charged for my booking?

Payment will be taken after you have booked in our website in Israeli Shekels at the exchange rate on the day.

How much luggage can I bring?

Each shuttle passenger is entitled to bring one small bag onto the bus and place one larger piece of baggage into the luggage compartment under the bus.

I don’t have a printer. Can I show the voucher on my phone?
